CompTIA A+
The CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today’s computer support professionals that hold the job title of field service technician, help desk technician, IT specialist, or technical support specialist. CompTIA A+ confirms a technician’s ability to perform installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance, and basic computer networking. The exams also cover security, safety, environmental issues, communication, and professionalism. CompTIA A+ ensures the right people have the right skills.
CompTIA ITF+
Students are introduced to Information Technology vocabulary and fundamentals related to computer hardware, software, networking, security, and basic Information Technology literacy. This course helps prepare students for the CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification exam. The hope is to manage talent and develop for future needs by taking people of color through a process and exposing them to different aspects of IT.
Intro to Agile
The Purpose of this class is to introduce AGILE Development Procedures to recent attendees of the Code Black/Metro Community College (MCC) Introduction to IT Class. This includes the overall stages of AGILE development methodologies, SOW analysis, creating, grooming, and developing work sprints. Along the way, there will be an introduction to various data science and coding principles, such as SQL Database development and .NET coding (C#).
Intro to SQL
This class aims to introduce basic and intermediate fundamentals of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Git repository operations in an Agile team-oriented environment. Students will learn the basic structure of Git repositories, cloning branches, creating working branches, and pushing branches up to remote repositories via Git Bash. Students will also be instructed on basic DBA responsibilities, C.R.U.D. operations, and basic to advanced SQL query statements and data set analysis.
